RC28 Conference · Abu Dhabi
Code of Conduct
We are unwavering in our commitment to ensuring an environment at Research Committee 28 (RC28) that is free from any form of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or intimidation. All participants are expected to uphold a high standard of respect and professionalism.
As organizers, we will work to maintain a climate of inclusion, responsibility, fairness, impartiality, and openness.
This Code of Conduct applies to both physical and digital spaces associated with the conference. This Code of Conduct reflects those principles adopted by NYUAD, and attendees with questions or who need further clarification can consult the resources provided on the Spring 2027 RC28 Conference website as well as The Office of Global Access and Engagement (opens in a new tab).
The RC28 community is committed to providing an environment at the RC28 Conference that is free from any form of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Participants are expected to engage respectfully and professionally, including when discussing complex, sensitive, or contested academic, political, regional, or societal issues. Differences of opinion and scholarly debate are an important part of academic exchange; however, disagreement must not take the form of personal attacks, discriminatory or harassing conduct, threats, intimidation, or behavior that interferes with others’ ability to participate fully in the conference.
Participants must refrain from inappropriate conduct or statements based on individual characteristics such as age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, nationality, political affiliation, religion, disability, or political views.
Harassing behavior of any kind will not be tolerated. Harassment includes, but is not limited to, inappropriate or intimidating behavior and language, unwelcome jokes or comments, unwanted touching or attention, offensive images, photography or recording without permission, and stalking, threats, and other conduct that creates an intimidating, hostile, or disruptive environment.
Conference participants will treat each other with respect to create a collegial, inclusive, and professional environment. We do not tolerate repeated or sustained disruption of talks, discussions or conference activities, or any other behavior that interferes with full participation by others.
